Cow Pat Challenge takes place at Páirc Cholmcille

20/09/2010
The Cow Pat Challenge was held on Sunday afternoon at Páirc Cholmcille GAA pitch. A good crowd gathered in the clubhouse to watch the Down vs Cork Senior Football Final and once that had finished, “Kojak” was let out onto the pitch at 5:20pm to sample the Naomh Colmcille grass and make someone 2000 Euro better off.

She was unfazed by the onlooking crowd and had a good wander around the pitch, enjoying having the whole field to herself. After about an hour of nervous anticipation, and a couple of false alarms, “Kojak” did her business at 6:17pm. The spot was marked with a flag and the grid reference was calculated.

The lucky winner was Michael Mulrine of Raphoe, ticket number 1003. The ticket was sold by senior player Ciaran Devine. Congratulations to Michael, and many thanks to everyone who bought and sold tickets and attended on the day. The club would also like to thank Breda Friel for organising the tickets, Karol Friel for marking out the field, Kieran Friel for bringing the cow, and of course, a special thanks to the star of the show, “Kojak”.
