Seniors defeated away to Red Hugh’s

The senior team travelled to Killygordon on Saturday evening to play Red Hugh’s in Division 3 of the League.

The home side were first to get off the mark, scoring two points before Matthew Crossan scored for Naomh Colmcille from a free. Red Hugh’s were enjoying the majority of possession, and they converted their dominance into a series of points without reply. Naomh Colmcille had two chances to register scores from frees to keep in touch but failed to convert and trailed by 0-10 to 0-1 at half time.

At half time, Paul Friel came off to be replaced by Paul Callaghan at right corner forward.

Killygordon’s dominance continued and they started the second half with an early goal. Matthew Crossan put a free over for Naomh Colmcille in reply but Red Hugh’s were controlling possession and scored a further two goals and 3 points in the second half, with Naomh Colmcille restricted to another two points from frees.

At the final whistle, Red Hugh’s were deserving winners, with a scoreline of 3-13 to 0-4.
